DDA Repeal - Petition

Post by LeighandApple » March 24th, 2010, 12:57 pm

Just found this through the K9Magazine web site and it ends 11th September 2010.

If we all spread the word about signing this petition to friends, family and post this on other forums we should be able to get a large number to sign up. If we don't act strongly now we can't moan if nothing changes.

I've signed it!!

Cheers

Leigh

I've signed it Leigh, I noticed the difference to to last petition of that ilk, because the last time we only got three hundred something signatures in six months, but this time there are one thousand and twenty three already! I'll pass it around to all concerned, the last petition never even got a response, hopefully though with whats been said of late, things will be different.

Thank you for posting this up!

During the official campaign period for the General Election the e-Petitions system will be closed to new submissions and signatures. The Government will also not issue responses to petitions during this period. This is to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Code on party political neutrality.

Any petitions due to close between the announcement of the General Election and 3 June will have their deadlines extended to 3 June. Petitions will reopen for signatures upon the formation of the Government following the General Election.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
As expected!

Re: DDA Repeal - Petition [response]

Here is the response to the petition
Number 10 wrote:The Government is aware that some dog welfare groups wish to see the Dangerous Dogs Act repealed and replaced with non-breed specific legislation. A public consultation exercise was recently carried out on the law on dangerous dogs. We will be analysing the many responses we have received before making any decisions.
