Fleas!!

Post by mandog » July 21st, 2011, 7:23 pm

What's everybody using to get rid of those fleas then?
Just got back from a walk with the dogs and pulled 25 of the things out. So decided to bath them but can't do that everytime so was looking at Youngs flypor from molevally farmers, it's meant for cattle so was wondering if any one can see any reason not to use it. Or perhaps someone has a different (cheaper) solution, over on another forum they talk about using a treatment that's used on plants. Same active ingrediants and they swear by it.
I know some peaople will say garlic ect, i have used that and the mrs don't like the smell. I am currently using with great success might i add something called diatom. Its a natural product that works better than most other natural products i've used, but it is useless against an infestation as most natual products are. So i need to know about the chemical killers and i don't want to give the vet any of my money.

I work at the vets, so I always use "that" stuff :P I use Frontline Combo or Advantix. I'm very pleased with it. My dogs come to work and would be infested every time otherwise by all the animals that bring them in. I saw a lot of fleas die after they jumped on my dogs.

Yes, Frontline is weird that way. One dog it works great and on the other it doesn't do anything.
